Cooling and Removal: After the molten metal has solidified, the sand mold is allowed to cool. The mold is then broken apart, and the sand is removed, revealing the sand cast part. The part may require additional cleaning and finishing processes, such as sandblasting, machining, grinding, or heat treatment, to achieve the desired surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

Design Considerations: When designing parts for sand casting, certain considerations should be taken into account, such as draft angles to facilitate part removal from the mold, fillets or rounded corners to reduce stress concentration, and proper gating and risering design to ensure uniform metal flow and minimize defects.
